Dr. Joelle Worgan TCMD, R.Ac
Dr. Joelle Worgan grew up in Nelson BC, a town very open minded to alternative health and lifestyles, so the idea of becoming a healer came naturally to her. In 2002, she moved to Calgary and pursued a career as a pharmacy technician through an in-house pharmacy-training program. Despite having interest in alternative medicine, she learned about drug generics, chemical ingredients, and the associated conditions treated with these medications. This further intensified her desire to help people from a more natural approach.
In 2005, Dr. Joelle enrolled in the Acupressure Therapy program through Mount Royal College. This was an intriguing introductory to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) so the following 3 years were followed with intense educational training, and an internship at the Alberta College of Acupuncture and TCM where she studied anatomy, physiology, pathology, and the eastern courses of acupuncture, herbs, and Chinese fundamental theories, to name a few. In her third year of school, Joelle traveled to Hangzhou, China where she observed and practiced acupuncture and herbs in the hospitals and clinics. She returned to Calgary with a certificate for her clinical internship through the Zhejiang Chinese Medical University and completed her Canadian program in 2009.
Being very passionate about helping people, Dr. Joelle provides assistance with her knowledge and uses her Acupuncture and TCM skills as tools for people to maintain optimum levels of health. She is strongly dedicated to the history of her practice and incorporates those philosophies into her treatments. The most important philosophy Joelle wants her patients to know regarding diet, exercise, and lifestyle is that you are your own best doctor.
